AeA is the nations largest high-tech trade association. Membership spans the product
and service spectrum, from semiconductors and software services to computers, Internet and
telecommunications systems and services. With 17 councils and international offices in
Brussels and Beijing, AeA (formerly known as the American Electronics
Association) offers a unique global policy grassroots capability and a wide
portfolio of valuable products and services for the high-tech industry.
AeA's New England Council, headquartered in Woburn,
Massachusetts, services the six New England states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. It is one of several AeA councils with an
active state public policy program that actively advances
AeA public policy initiatives within the New England states.

What kinds of companies does AeA represent?
AeA represents all sectors of the high-tech industry nationally. Membership spans the
product spectrum and includes small, medium and large companies. View our member
list of leading technology companies. Membership spans the high technology industry,
including hardware, software, computers, defense, Internet, semiconductors, computers, medical
devices and telecommunications systems and services.
Who is eligible to join AeA?
All businesses in the high-tech industry are encouraged to become members of AeA.
There are three types of AeA membership Corporate, Associate and Non-Profit.
Corporate members are companies whose principal business is to design, manufacture and/or
conduct research in electronics, electronics components, telecommunications, software,
Internet or related information technology products and services. Associate members are
identified by AeA board members as premier service providers in both financial and
business organizations within the high-tech industry. Non-Profit members are comprised of
those institutions in the high-tech industry that serve within universities, vertical
groups, incubators and the like.
What does AeA want to accomplish in the high-tech industry?
AeAs primary mission is to advance the business of technology.
We are the voice of the high-tech community in federal, state and local public policy initiatives.
Businesses should join AeA in creating a unified voice to promote the success of the
U.S. technology industry.
How does AeA decide which legislation is significant?
Since AeA is bipartisan, member companies make the decisions and set the legislative
agenda. AeA supports an extensive range of issues that reach a broad spectrum of
technology companies. AeA committees meet regularly to discuss
trends, review legislation, develop industry positions and advocate for the
industry.
What resource materials are available through AeA?
AeA provides a myriad of tools and a wealth of information to help member companies.
