What is AeA?
AeA is the nation’s largest high-tech trade association. Membership spans the product and service spectrum, from semiconductors and software services to computers, Internet and telecommunications systems and services. With 17 councils and international offices in Brussels and Beijing, AeA offers a unique global policy grassroots capability and a wide portfolio of valuable products and services for the high-tech industry.

AeA's Florida Council, headquartered in Orlando, Florida, services the entire state.  It is one of several AeA councils with an active state public policy program, primarily focused at the present time on education. The program serves to support the high-tech industry by means of advancing AeA public policy initiatives with the Florida Legislature.

Who does AeA represent?
AeA represents all sectors of the high-tech industry nationally. Membership spans the product spectrum and includes small, medium and large companies.

Who is eligible to join AeA?
All businesses in the high-tech industry are encouraged to become members of AeA. There are three types of AeA membership – Corporate, Associate and Non-Profit. Corporate members are companies whose principal business is to design, manufacture and/or conduct research in electronics, electronics components, telecommunications, software, Internet or related information technology products and services. Associate members are identified by AeA board members as premier service providers in both financial and business organizations within the high-tech industry. Non-Profit members are comprised of those institutions in the high-tech industry that serve within universities, vertical groups, incubators and the like.

What does AeA want to accomplish for the high-tech industry?
AeA’s primary mission is to advance the business of technology as the voice of the high-tech community in federal, state and local public policy initiatives. Businesses should join AeA in creating a unified voice to promote the success of the technology industry in Florida.

How does AeA decide what legislation is significant?
Since AeA is bipartisan, member companies make the decisions and set the legislative agenda. AeA supports an extensive range of issues that reach a broad spectrum of technology companies.

What resource materials are available through AeA?
AeA provides a myriad of tools to member companies that impact their top and bottom lines. This includes legislative influence, visibility with corporate and government prospects, valuable products and services to meet the needs of operational areas throughout the company, access to capital through financial conferences and industry information such as the award-winning Cyber publications and salary surveys.
