Alpharetta, GA (August 12, 2008) – Several leading
members from the high-tech community in the Southeast have been named as judges
for AeA’s 2008 “Spirit of Endeavor” Awards, which annually recognize outstanding
individuals and companies in the region’s technology industry. Sponsored by
AeA’s Southeast Council, the awards will be presented during a gala on September
18 at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.
The 2008 judges for the awards include: Jonathan Bragdon, President and COO,
Tricycle Inc. (Chattanooga, TN); Jim Frierson, Executive Director, Advanced
Transportation Technology Institute (Chattanooga, TN); Dick Cook, Senior
Advisor, Focus Enterprises (Atlanta, GA); Norm Geddes, President & CEO, Applied
Systems Intelligence (Atlanta, GA); Price Harding, Chairman, United Technology
Group (Buford, GA); Allan Maurer, Editor, TechJournal South (Research Triangle
Park, NC); Dan McDade, President of PointClear (Norcross, GA); and Robert Shults,
Director of Strategic Sector Programs, Intel, Southeast Region.
“We have an outstanding group of industry leaders to judge this year’s
nominations,” said Jeff Katz, President & COO, Definition 6 and Chairman, AeA
Southeast Council, “We have about a week before the nominations close, so we are
urging everyone to submit their nominations before the deadline.”
The awards categories are: Outstanding Leadership Award (individual); the
Technology Entrepreneur Award (individual); Emerging Business Award
(organization); Technology Innovation Award (individual); and Leadership in
Technology Education (organization). Up to five finalists will be chosen for
each category by a selection committee comprised of representatives from the
southeast technology community.
