Would you like to see U.S. tax policy encourage growth and innovation? Are you aware of emerging proposals that could substantially increase your company’s tax burden? Would you like to have a direct impact on U.S. tax laws and regulations? If yes, involvement in
AeA’s Tax Committee will greatly benefit your business. Taxation goes to the heart of the high-tech industry’s global competitiveness, and this is one of AeA’s most active
committees. Participation is open to any interested AeA
member.
AeA’s Tax Committee supports tax proposals that help high-tech employees and their companies by:
- Encouraging economic growth and a leveling of the worldwide playing field
- Reducing the corporate tax burden
- Attracting and retaining a qualified workforce
- Increasing access to capital
- Increasing access to markets
AeA’s Tax Committee meets monthly, and those unable to attend in person may participate in the meeting via a conference call. The meetings are
exclusive to AeA members and are free of charge. During the meetings the committee receives updates on ongoing legislative and regulatory issues, discusses emerging issues confronting our companies, collaborates on appropriate industry responses to taxation problems confronting our companies, and networks with industry colleagues. In addition, the committee regularly receives updates and insights from key congressional and government staff.
The committee is frequently involved in preparing detailed comment letters for the Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, and congressional committees. Depending on the complexity of the issues being examined, the committee may be broken down into task forces, and participation in these groups is always voluntary.
Finally, all committee members – whether frequent participants in committee work or not –
receive information on a regular basis such as legislative developments, regulation changes, and other pertinent
information.

committee, contact Marie Lee, AeA Counsel/Manager, Tax Policy at Tel:
