Nationally, Cyberstates 2008 shows that the high-tech industry
added jobs for the third consecutive year. Tech industry employment
totaled 5.9 million, after adding 91,400 jobs in 2007. This is on top of
job gains of 139,000 in 2006 and 87,400 in 2005...read

Social Networking Mixer
Costa Mesa, CA
It was a cold, rainy evening Wed., Jan. 23, 2008, but that did not
stop AeA members and colleagues from filling the Karl Strauss Brewery
Company's banquet facility to capacity during AeA OC Council Sales &
Marketing Committee's Social Networking Mixer. After a
half-hour of networking, drinks, and hor'dourves, speaker Vinh Ha
(Founder,
bigdevelopment.com), unleashed the secrets to companies refreshing
their marketing mix by connecting with their customers on a more intimate,
personal and emotional level by leveraging web 2.0 technologies including
MySpace.com, Facebook.com, and YouTube.com. The evening, moderated
by Cara Good, WunderMarxPR
Founder, resulted in a dynamic discussion with attendees sticking around
to network and exchange ideas long after the event was over!

AeA Orange County Council hosted an
education summit with Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) in Santa Ana. Kevin
McDonald, Chairman of the OC Council Government Affairs Committee and Vice
President of Alvaka Networks, organized the event and Julie Evans, CEO of
Project Tomorrow, was the moderator.
