September 23, 2008: Minnesota's High-Tech Exports Are among the Top Ten in the Nation
New! Trade in the Cyberstates 2008 examines high-tech trade flows at the national level and tech goods exports for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.  The report shows that nationally, high-tech is the largest merchandise export sector in the United States, reaching $214 billion in 2007.

June 24, 2008:  Minneapolis-St. Paul’s Tech Employment Totals 98,100, Says AeA Report
Cybercities 2008 examines the high-tech industry in the nation’s 60 largest metro areas focusing on tech employment, wages, establishments, payroll, employment concentration, and wage differential. The report compares different U.S. regions and delves into the 16 sectors that comprise the high-tech industry for these 60 cities.

April 24, 2008:  MHTA Annual High Tech Spring Conference in Minneapolis

Steve Kelley, University of Minnesota, moderates a panel with Minnesota Senate Minority Leader David Senjem; Dan McElroy, Commissioner of the Department of MN State Employment and Economic Development; and Art Rolnick, VP of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis in Mid-April.

Robert Stephens, founder of Geek Squad, keynotes the Minnesota High Tech Spring Conference on April 24 in Minneapolis.  Over 700 technology leaders from the Gopher State attended this annual event.

April 18, 2008:  Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty visited Thomson Reuters to sign historic broadband legislation into state law.

Thomson Reuters is a member of the AeA Minnesota Council, MHTA, and was instrumental in the bill's passage.

April 2, 2008:  AeA Report Shows that Minnesota’s Tech Industry Adds 600 Jobs
Nationally, Cyberstates 2008 shows that the high-tech industry added jobs for the third consecutive year. Tech industry employment totaled 5.9 million, after adding 91,400 jobs in 2007. This is on top of job gains of 139,000 in 2006 and 87,400 in 2005...read more.

Cyberstates 2008 provides 2007 national tech trends on employment and venture capital investments as well as the latest data on state employment, wages, establishments, payroll, and research and development.

November 6, 2007:  Have You Seen Who Recieved a 2007 Tekne Award?
More than 1,000 technology leaders, public officials, and educators celebrated innovation at the Minnesota Tekne Awards last Thursday evening. Click here for a list of the 2007 Tekne Award recipients.

More than $21,000 was raised to support the Minnesota High Technology Foundation (MHTF) Scholarship Fund for college students in STEM disciplines and K-12 teachers delivering innovative technology-related curriculum in the classroom through the Tekne Award Silent Auction.

July 17, 2007:  Minnesota's Tech Exports Grow $1.8 Billion Since 2000, Says AeA's New Report
Nationally, Trade in the Cyberstates 2007 shows that international trade of high-tech goods continues to rise.  High-tech goods exports grew by 10 percent for a total of $220 billion in 2006, representing 21 percent of all U.S. exports to the world...read more.
